Noam & Aaron
We got married in Silverwood Park, Minneapolis, on August 8, 2022.
You can download a full pdf wedding booklet explaining many of the things we did to prepare for and at our wedding, including detailed texts with footnotes.
Want to get us something from our registry? You can still do that at any time!
If you were at the wedding and took any nice photos, share them with us by uploading them here.
In 2015, Noam was lured to Minneapolis by the U of M, which offered him the opportunity to work with a renowned scholar in Jewish history for his PhD. On his 10th day in town, he was invited by a new acquaintance to Aaron’s house (sight unseen) for Shabbat dinner.
Aaron had been living in Minneapolis for six years at that point, and had come to the conclusion that he just didn’t *like* people (in the dating sense). But he was happy to help welcome people to town, and always said “yes!” to more people for dinner.
“Ooooh,” they both thought, upon Noam’s arrival that evening. “Who is *that* person?!”
After a few months of frequently finding opportunities to spend time together, while constantly thinking “I’m sure he’s not really interested in me, he’s just being friendly,” they finally allowed as how they were both open to the possibility of a romantic relationship (during a walk on the shabbat just preceding Sukkot).
They went on their first official date the following week, and now, nearly 7 years later, they are excited to formalize their commitments. They hope to continue walking, cooking, dancing, traveling, learning, reading, discussing, biking, and growing together.
Who made the first move? How?
Surprisingly, it was the Canadian, not the New Yorker, who said “Let’s talk about what’s going on between us!” (Pro tip: he ran away just after asking that question, because he was invited to Rosh Hashanah lunch 😂)
Who’s going to take out the trash?
That’s Perel’s job.
What’s your favorite activity together?
We have both discovered a love of hiking together.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
We are planning a lovely minimoon in St Croix Falls. (A longer and more formal honeymoon may happen at some point in the future.)
What is one of the most memorable meals you’ve eaten together?
We went to a seven-course blind tasting at a tiny vegan restaurant in Toronto to celebrate our anniversary a number of years ago.
We’re on the same page about
nothing (because we read at different speeds!) 😂
The most spontaneous thing we’ve done
Most of the spontaneous things we do involve inventing dinner, which isn’t so exciting to read about. One time we bought tickets on the spur of the moment to see “Man of La Mancha” at a theater we’d never heard of, and that production company has become one of our favorites (Theater Latté Da).
The dorkiest thing about us is
We do the New York Times crosswords together. Aaron is responsible for music and math-related clues. Noam is responsible for geography and history. Google is responsible for helping with sports.
Teach us something about
Sportsing. What is this sportsing ball-playing thing people around us talk about?
We take pride in

Upon arrival, all guests will be asked to show proof of a negative rapid-antigen test taken that morning.
The ceremony is entirely outdoors and the reception is mostly outdoors. The air-conditioned reception hall will have limited seating available for those that prefer to be inside.
Masking is required when indoors.
The easiest way to do this is to get an over-the-counter rapid COVID test (they are easy to order and have shipped so you are ready the day of the event and usually come 2 tests to a box) and take your test, put your name on the results with the date and take a photo.
You can also schedule a rapid antigen test (results within 2 hours) through Walgreens or CVS.
Here are a few easy and great at-home tests with options on where to buy. Walgreens seems to have the most options and has most of them available for shipping, but if you check each test’s website, they provide multiple places to buy them. The tests run $20-$25 for two at home tests.

Yes! After the ceremony, you are invited to join us for a festive reception with lunch. There will be plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
The ceremony is scheduled for 11am-12pm, and the reception will wind down between 3pm and 4pm.
It’s Minnesota in August — so, probably quite warm (historical average for early August is in the low 80s F / high 20s C), but possibly also raining. Keep in mind that our ceremony is outdoors, and the reception is inside (and air-conditioned).
There is free onsite parking — just follow the signs.
Yes, though with some unusual twists! Visit our registry here.
Aside from during the ceremony itself, we would love for you to take photos and share them with us. Also keep in mind that a professional photographer will be present to document the celebration — so feel free to suggest some shots!
Be fully present. Be kind to others. Be joyful!
The RSVP form will ask for the first name, last name, and email address of one member of your household/party. We have carefully crafted our guest list and everyone who is invited should be included on your RSVP page. Just one of you should RSVP on behalf of everyone in your household (one at a time). There are a few questions which will be asked of each member (this might be kind of annoying; we’ve made it as un-annoying as this tool will allow). After you’ve RSVP’d for each member of your household, you have to click the final button to fully submit the form for your household.
See the Travel page for hotel information.

We’ll be blending the colors silver and sienna and therefore changing our name to Thebronzethatyougetwhenyoucombinesilverysiennacolors. In other words: no.
On the day of the wedding, Kelly Bollis will be there to answer your questions. In the meantime, you can email us with questions.
Adorn yourself in a way that feels dressy and special and celebratory!
